Victoria Beckham has shared snippets of her daily routine with the world. Now, while JOY and EXERCISE are a big part of her daily life, so is nutrition. Victoria has shared some of her daily rituals over the years, and one of them is to take an anti-inflammatory shot packed with all the good stuff like turmeric, ginger and apple cider vinegar. This recipe is one from top nutritionist to the stars Dr Will Cole, and this is the rumoured recipe that VB herself likes.

I tried this myself, and while I would be very used to drinking the supermarket versions, this recipe gives a HARDCORE kick. So if you have a sensitive stomach, I would go easy on the cayenne pepper.

PS. I left out the honey, but Jamie thinks it would be nicer with it.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar (with the mother)

  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4/5 lemons)

  • 2 tablespoons turmeric powder (or about 4 inches of fresh turmeric, peeled. I used the powder)

  • 2 tablespoons ginger powder (or about 4 inches of fresh ginger (mine was organic so I didn’t peel it)

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (I put in whole peppercorns)

  • 2–3 tablespoons manuka honey (optional)

  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

  • 1 cup filtered water

Method

This method makes 5-7 shots.

Place all of the ingredients in a blender and squeeze in the lemon juice.

Blend it all together and strain the mixture through a sieve to remove the pulp.

Place in an airtight container or pour into shot containers. The shots will keep in the fridge for about 4/5 days.

Shake well before drinking.
