I love smoothies, but I have to say, I’ve never tasted one as nice as this. I thought this would be very earthy because of the broccoli, but it’s so good, I had two the first time I made it.
Victoria apparently has this smoothie every morning after her workout. She starts the day with an anti-inflammatory shot (recipe here).
If you try it, let me know what you think!
Ingredients
- Spinach x 2 cups
- Broccoli x 1/2 cup
- Cucumber x 1/2
- Celery x 2 stalks
- Avocado x 1
- Green apple x 1 (sometimes the Beckham’s use pear)
- Juice of lime x 1
- Juice of lemon x 1/2
- Ginger x 3cm piece
Method
- Wash and roughly chop all ingredients.
- Add to a blender with 1/2 cup water or as much as needed.
- Blend until smooth, adjusting thickness with extra water or coconut water.
- I love a fresh smoothie, but this will keep in the fridge in an airtight container for 24/48 hours.
- Serve with a side of David Beckham, and voilà..life looks pretty good.
*Health benefits – This recipe is packed with anti-inflammatory, hydrating, and detoxifying ingredients that support digestion, immunity, skin health, and energy levels.*
*Since my own cancer diagnosis I have made a big effort to incorporate broccoli into my diet as much as possible. Broccoli is rich in sulforaphane, as are kale and sprouts. And while I’m not too strict about it, I try to bring it into my diet as much as possible. Even better that I can stick some broccoli into a smoothie that tastes great!*
